Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide specialized knowledge in modern analysis techniques and their applications in food, nutrition and environmental quality control. This knowledge is the foundation for solution design, implementation and monitoring, and as such is a key resource for technical staff in quality control laboratories in the food and nutritional supplement industries, as well as product and environmental testing laboratories in private companies and government regulatory bodies.
Outline of course content
The course content is organized into two sections:
- Biophysical and biochemical methods:
- Principles and applications of spectroscopic methods in qualitative and quantitative analysis (fluorescence, chemiluminescence, NMR).
- Chromatography-LC/ GC: Principles and applications of mass spectroscopy (MS)
- Biodiversity and its role in ecosystems
- Thermal and mechanical analysis
- Omic technologies in food and nutrition
- Electrophoresis and Immunochemical methods with applications in Nutrition and the Environment
- Molecular and cellular methods, Biomarkers:
